FFC - Football For Cancer
We create fun exciting sports event that encourages people of all ages from all walks of life to remember their loved ones they have lost to cancer. Football for Cancer was created in 2008, since then it has grown from a single tournament, to a Charity that will be raising £1,000,000 for local Cancer charities and people affected by the disease. We support local families who are going through one of the toughest times in their lives. As a local charity we are able to act fast and can provide much needed funds via the Grant Scheme, sometimes in less than 24 hours. We provide directly to families to try and alleviate the financial burden that coping with this disease can cause.
We also make regular donations to local and national Cancer charities working in our community. We now have ran a football event in Portsmouth with 184 players, Southampton 80 players, Bournemouth 80 players and charity game planned in Andover. All players have a hoodie and a welcome pack explaining where the money they raise will be spent and become members of the FFC Family.
We have also created a place where people can pop in and talk to us in our very own FFC shop which is based in Cosham high street. All monies that are raised goes towards the charities GRANT GIVING service, where families can use it to help with anything they are struggling to find the money for Recent Examples:
● Pay the heating bill
● Needing a new bed
● Paying travel costs to life saving medical services
Our grants really do help those around us. In the past 12 months alone FFC has given out over £60,000 in grants and over £38,000 in donations to local charities.
